Reproduction Wet-Lab Program

The reproduction wet labs will provide the practitioner with a hands-on opportunity to learn the latest techniques employed in the examination of the infertile mare, ultrasonography of the pregnant mare and fetus, current techniques in preparing and packaging equine semen and how to perform a complete breeding soundness exam in the stallion.  In addition to providing a hands-on experience, the wet labs also provide the practitioner time to interact one on one with specialists in the field of equine reproduction. The Reproduction Wet-Lab will be held at Mystic Valley Hunt Club.

Examination of the Infertile Mare

Ultrasound of the Pregnant Mare (transrectal and transabdominal)

In this laboratory participants will perform trans-abdominal ultrasonographic examination of the pregnant mare.  Depending on horse numbers and participant numbers either hands-on or a demonstration of transrectal ultrasonographic evaluation of the fetus/placenta will be performed.

The Ultrasound and Reproduction Wet-Labs will be held at the Mystic Valley Hunt Club on September 22nd.

The Annual Symposium will run from September 23rd through the 25th.

The Farrier sessions will run from September 24th & 25th.

The Horseman's Day activities will be held on September 26th.

Registration fee includes all course materials, morning coffee. 

Course materials will be provided to participants in CD format.  Printed course materials may be requested for an additional fee.
