Ends September 1st, 2011
Welcome to
the Lameness and Sport Medicine portion of our 2011 Annual Symposium! This
year’s program has been expanded and upgraded to provide attendees with an
unparalleled continuing education experience providing 37 total hours of
continuing education credits.
Preceding
the official start of our scientific program, we are excited to announce two
very special wet-lab opportunities. On Tuesday, September 27 a select panel
of specialists will be providing demonstration and guidance in many of the
less-commonly used diagnostic and therapeutic injection techniques,
including the shoulder joint, navicular bursa, and cervical facets, just to
name a few. Cadaver specimens and ultrasound machines will be provided for
this laboratory; however participants are free to bring their own ultrasound
machine for a more personalized wet-lab experience. The following day our
second wet-lab offering will be providing instruction on specific ultrasound
techniques throughout the musculoskeletal system. Again, ultrasound machines
will be provided, or attendees may feel free to utilize their own equipment.
Because the wet-lab spaces are limited, we encourage participants to
register early, as we expect these spaces to fill quickly. Special wet-lab
rates are available to those choosing to attend the Tuesday wet-lab –
registration for Tuesday entitles you to a discount on any wet-lab you
may choose to attend on Wednesday - please contact the NEAEP office for more
information. Please be certain to look carefully
through our registration page to take advantage of this amazing hands-on
personalized experience!
This
year’s scientific program will feature nationally- and internationally-known
speakers sharing their wisdom on topics ranging from the foot and pastern
through the difficult tarsus/proximal suspensory region and stifle to the
neck, back and sacroiliac regions. Individual speaker presentations will be
enhanced this year with the addition of an audience response system,
allowing each attendee to directly participate in select presentations!
Additionally, the always-popular interactive panel discussions will return
as presenters will be discussing difficult cases and encouraging direct
audience participation.
A special
event will be occurring Friday afternoon, when the Lameness and Podiatry
programs will be combined. This afternoon’s schedule will provide
participants with the opportunity to hear veterinarians and farriers
together discussing difficult lameness/shoeing cases. In addition, attendees
will be directly involved in the discussion through our audience response
system for an amazing interactive afternoon!
